A piano is heavy, awkward to handle and important to its owner. Piano moving needs a plan for the instrument and the spaces it must pass through. If you are arranging a piano move in Toronto or the GTA, contact Zagros Movers with photos and job details so we can assess the requirements and confirm whether we can accommodate your move.

Tell us which piano you have

Send clear photos and tell us whether it is an upright, baby grand, grand or digital piano. Include the make, model and dimensions if you know them. Different instruments can require different handling arrangements, so suitability must be confirmed before booking.

Show the access at both locations

For a piano moving quote, include your pickup and delivery addresses, preferred date, stairs and floor levels. Send photos of entrances, hallways, turns and any steps. Mention elevator dimensions, parking restrictions and the distance between the truck and the building.

Confirm the piano moving plan

Ask what crew, equipment and protection the job requires, what the quote includes and whether access could affect the price. Confirm handling responsibilities and protection terms in writing. If any dismantling is needed, agree on who will carry it out before moving day.

Prepare the space, not the piano yourself

Clear the walking route and remove small obstacles. Keep children and pets away from the work area. Avoid attempting to lift, dismantle or move the instrument without suitable experience and equipment. Tell the crew about existing damage or any loose parts.

Plan its place in the new home

Decide on the final position and measure the available space before arrival. Follow the piano manufacturer’s guidance for placement and care. If you have questions about tuning after relocation, consult a piano technician.
